AllTails Privacy Policy

AllTails is made by Pipedream Ventures LLC. The short version: AllTails backs up your dogs, walks, and photos to our servers so you can restore them and share them with your pack. Apple Health data never leaves your iPhone. AllTails has no ads. We don't sell your data. We measure how the app is used so we can fix problems, and only if you allow tracking do we measure which ads brought you to AllTails.

Your account

AllTails creates an anonymous account the first time you open it. You don't need an email. You can link the account to Sign in with Apple in Settings. Then you can restore your data on another iPhone.

What we back up

• Dogs and people: names, photos, breed, weight, age, and energy you enter.
• Walks: the GPS route, time, distance, pace, and any trims or notes.
• Photos: pictures you pick or take for dog profiles and walks. Photo ranking, dog cutouts, and character looks are made on your device.

We store this data with Supabase in the United States. Only you and the packs you join or invite people to can see it. We don't read it except to fix a problem you report to us.

What stays on your iPhone

Apple Health data never leaves your iPhone. This includes heart rate, calories, Health workouts, and walks you import from Health. It is not backed up, not sent to a pack, and not sent to an AI service.

Packs

Packs are optional. You invite someone with a link. When they open it in AllTails, they join your pack. Only the people in that pack can see it.

A pack gets:

• Dog profiles: name, profile photo, breed, weight, age, and energy for the dogs in that pack.
• Walks with those dogs: the GPS route and time that AllTails records, the dogs, the walker's name, and the note.

A pack never gets Apple Health data. A dog walker can be in many packs. Each pack gets only walks with its own dogs, so clients never see each other.

You can remove someone from your pack, or leave someone else's pack, from the Pack tab.

App usage and diagnostics

AllTails records simple app events tied to your anonymous account, such as opening a screen, starting or saving a walk, and errors. It also records diagnostics when the app freezes or crashes. We use this only to find and fix problems and to see which features people use. It never includes GPS routes, photos, or Apple Health data, and we don't share it with anyone.

Ad measurement

AllTails asks for permission to track only after you've used it. If you allow tracking, we may share your device's advertising identifier and install events with ad partners such as Meta, only to measure which of our ads led people to AllTails. If you ask the app not to track, nothing is shared. You can change this anytime in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security > Tracking.

Optional AI images

Before you make an AI card or a person illustration, AllTails asks for your permission. If you agree, it sends the photos you chose through our Cloudflare worker to OpenRouter, which uses a Google image model. AI cards also send the dog names, walk title, distance, duration, and neighborhood name when available. Person illustrations send the photo and an illustration instruction. AI requests never include GPS coordinates or Apple Health data.

Our Cloudflare worker uses a random installation ID and daily counters to limit requests. The counters expire after two days. OpenRouter and Google process requests under their own terms and privacy policies. If you cancel, nothing is sent. Regular cards, replays, and profile photos don't use AI.

Permissions

• Location draws the route and measures distance while a walk is running.
• Notifications send walk reminders and a prompt if you stop for a while and may have forgotten to end the walk.
• Apple Health (optional) saves walks as workouts, reads heart rate from Apple Watch, and imports past walks. Health data is never used for advertising and never leaves your iPhone.
• Photos and Camera (optional) let you add dog photos and walk pictures.
• Tracking (optional) lets us measure which ads brought you to AllTails. See Ad measurement above.

Sharing

Nothing is posted unless you tap Share or Save. Share cards and replays trim about 150 m from each end of the route. A photo can still show a place, so check the image before you share it. Once you share an image or video, the app you share it to handles it under its own policy.

Deleting your data

Open Settings in AllTails and tap Delete Account. This deletes your account, your backup, your photos, and your pack from our servers. It also revokes Sign in with Apple for AllTails. Walks you saved to Apple Health stay in Health until you remove them there. Deleting the app alone does not delete your backup.

Children

AllTails is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their information.
